Procrastination Vs Perfectionism

Are you a perfectionist? Is it really hard for you to move ahead or complete your tasks till it is all perfect? And even then do you keep coming back to check everything is good enough or can it be improved further?

Does this quest for perfectionism keep you stuck in the same spot for too long because you would rather see this as perfect than what lies ahead?

The need to be perfect may by itself have its roots elsewhere, but sometimes it may just hold you back in a place of "I am not ready to move ahead"  or "I am still not done here" even when others see no apparent reason for you to be doing what you are.

Don't get me wrong, perfectionism also means you see things others don't and are incredibly grateful you stuck to your decisions to not just settle. But when you start noticing yourself procrastinating other important tasks because you need to get everything perfect, then why not use a bit of tapping with EFT to help you out? Who knows you may just be perfect in that too. :)

Just try this with me. Take a deep breath, sigh it out and close your eyes. Notice in your body what is the feeling that comes up when you have to move ahead from some task that has not been completed to perfection. Keep that in mind and try this tapping.

For those who are new to EFT, please check the tapping points here: EFT - The wholesome tool

KC Point - Even though I am not ready to move ahead till everything is perfect, I still love, accept and forgive myself.

KC Point  - Even though I do not know if it will ever be perfect or if I'll ever be ready to move ahead or focus on other things, I still love, accept and forgive myself.

KC Point - Even though I want this to be perfect, I am also aware other tasks are piling up as I am trying to perfect this and I don't want to stop doing this, I still love, accept and forgive myself.

EB point - I really want this to be perfect.

SE point - I am almost addicted to getting this perfect.

UE point - I am not ready to take up anything else till this is perfectly finished.

UN point - But I do not know if I'll ever be satisfied enough with it.

CH point - I can feel it in my body. Just the thought of moving on till I've everything right makes me feel - state your feeling.

CB point -  I am aware I am procrastinating on other important tasks in the bargain.

OH point - Do I really need this to be perfect or am I using this as an excuse to avoid something else?

EB point - I may never be ready or satisfied enough.

SE point - But it is ok not to be fully ready or satisfied.

UE point - I can start taking up other tasks and circle back to this when I have the luxury of time.

UN point - Even if it is not perfect, I know I've given a lot of my efforts to this task and maybe I can explore new challenges now.

CH point -  I was putting off this task too but once I started it, I was all in.

CB point -  I am just doing it again

OH point -  It is ok to not be fully ready or fully satisfied.

EB point - I am not ready now and what if I am not even a year from now.

SE point - There are a lot of other things I may miss out on in the process.

UE point - I do not have to do a bad job, but a part of me already knows when it is good enough to move on and focus on other things.

UN point - I love what I do and that's why I want it to be perfect.

CH point -  I know when I've given my best, so I can give myself the permission to move on.

CB point -  If there is any other reason as to why I am procrastinating, I choose to be aware of it now.

OH point -  If not, I am ready to feel safe to take up other tasks with the same confidence. I took up this one and perfected it.

EB point - But I know this task and how good I am at it.

SE point - What if I am not as good at anything else?

UE point -  I choose to remember how I felt when I first started this task.

UN point - Maybe I was scared then and then I just excelled enough to perfect it.

CH point -  I hate the pit in the stomach feeling of dealing with new tasks. I am so comfortable here.

CB point -  But that feeling is only till I understand the new task. Once I start enjoying it, I know I'll perfect that too.

OH point -  I give myself the permission to do just that and I love, accept and forgive myself.

This is just a gist of what you can tap on, but this itself may bring out a lot of points and hidden aspects, almost like getting the end of the yarn to unravel any other mysteries hidden beneath.

There are a number of other aspects that contribute to procrastination. More articles on that will follow later.

Make energy cleanse a regular ritual

Image By tohamina I recently felt the full impact of an energy attack. I thought I was protecting my energy well, but I realized I had not done enough. We all go through such attacks at least a few times in our lives. But what's most important are the choices we make when such an attack occurs.  These attacks want us to make the wrong choices. It gives them more leverage. When I experienced this energy attack, possibly one of the longest running attacks, it took me a while to realize it.  It felt as if everyone and everything was against me. I was experiencing feelings and emotions that did not feel like mine. All I wanted to do was to rave and rant.  But once I realized that all of it felt unnatural, I knew I've to start moving out all these energies that weren't mine. They felt like iron filings clinging on to a magnet. I worked on clearing this energy out everyday, till the source...

The power of a boomerang curse

Image by stockking on Freepik I want to share a story with you, something that I personally experienced and that left me so spellbound. There was some illegal activity happening in the neighborhood and as residents of the area, most of us were rightly concerned and were trying to handle it legally. But in the process, one of the concerned persons (let's call them person X) vehemently cursed those involved in the illegal activity (let's call the person Y), wishing destruction upon their property.  I was nearby and heard the curse and the instinctively knew that was not a good sign. My heart skipped a beat and I suddenly felt unsafe. Unfortunately, I did not act upon my instincts and reverse the cure. Sure enough, the curse rebound back in less than a week affecting not just the property of 'person X', but also everyone else nearby, including me.  The damage that happened was EXACTLY the same as what 'person X' had curs...
