Understanding Energy Attacks: Awareness, Illusion, and Recovery

It has been some time since my last article, and there is a certain irony in writing this one following yet another energy attack. While such experiences are not uncommon in this line of work, my past encounters allowed me to recognize this one early—before it completely took hold.

Energy attacks often arrive quietly, slipping in when we least expect them. In many ways, they are as common as a cold, though their intensity can vary dramatically. Unfortunately, the attacks we tend to notice are usually the ones that knock us completely off balance, leaving us physically, mentally, and emotionally drained.

I’ve experienced my share of these attacks, and I’ve witnessed many of my clients move through them as well. The reason I feel compelled to write about this now is that my most recent experience—one I am still actively recovering from—brought with it a deeper level of clarity. Certain patterns became unmistakably clear, and I believe sharing these insights may help others recognize and navigate similar experiences.

Energy attacks typically target our most vulnerable points—the places where self-doubt, fear, or unresolved emotions already exist. Their purpose is not just to drain energy, but to create confusion. When confusion takes hold, it becomes difficult to recognize that the thoughts, emotions, and sensations you’re experiencing may not even be your own.

This is how the attack maintains its grip. You can become trapped in a repetitive loop of fear, insecurity, and anxiety, slowly exhausting yourself both mentally and physically. Over time, this can lead to the belief that something is deeply wrong with you. And the more you believe that narrative, the harder it becomes to access the clarity needed to clear the energy itself.

One of the most important realizations I had during this recovery process is that energy attacks operate largely through illusion. Much like the game of snakes and ladders, you may feel as though you’ve reached a place of stability, strength, or growth—only to suddenly feel pulled all the way back to the beginning. With energy attacks, however, you are not truly back at the bottom. You are simply made to believe that you are. Once the fog lifts, it becomes painfully clear how subtly you were manipulated into doubting your progress, your strength, and your awareness.

Practices to Clear and Restore Your Energy

Alongside the tapping technique I shared in a previous article, here are several practices that can support you in clearing negative or intrusive energies:

  1. Affirm that the energy is not yours.
Consciously reminding yourself that this energy does not belong to you creates immediate psychological and energetic distance, making release feel safer and more accessible.

  2. Use salt water baths intentionally.
As you bathe, hold the intention that all energies not aligned with your highest good are gently washed away and neutralized.

  3. Work with the violet flame.
Call upon the angels of the violet flame and visualize this powerful energy surrounding and cleansing you, transmuting all negative or intrusive influences.

  4. Utilize Reiki when available.
Reiki is an effective and gentle modality for restoring energetic balance. If you practice Reiki or know a trusted practitioner, allow this healing energy to support your recovery.

  5. Seek support without hesitation.
Even with awareness and experience, energy attacks can leave you feeling vulnerable. Reaching out to a healer or practitioner you trust can provide grounding, clarity, and additional protection along with all the support you need for the clearing.

  6. Practice patience during recovery.
Healing may not always be immediate. Depending on the intensity of the energy attack, it may take weeks or even months for your energy to fully stabilize. Patience and resilience play a vital role in long-term recovery.

  7. Make energetic cleansing a consistent practice.
Regular energy hygiene is not optional—it is essential. Making cleansing rituals part of your routine strengthens resilience and reduces the impact of future attacks.

How to use it as an opportunity

This may sound strange but since an energy attack focuses on your vulnerabilities, you can use that to your advantage by becoming aware of all the energies in you that do not feel good and focus on releasing it. The energies come to surface without you having to dig around for them.

I learned a lot of valuable lessons too, when I was working on healing myself.

So maybe something good can come out of it after all.

Energy awareness is not about fear—it is about empowerment.
The more aware you become, the less power these experiences have over you.

Be safe.
Be aware.

Weave gratitude into your life

Image by jcomp on Freepik We all know the power of gratitude. We all know, the more we have to be thankful for, the more we have opportunities to be thankful for. This is possibly one of the most well-known mantras since the time people understood the concept of the law of attraction. But still, the moment we get caught up in our daily life, gratitude more often than not slips way back into our priority lists. Have you noticed that the only time you are holding on to the attitude of gratitude is when you are present in the here and now?  So accepted and acknowledged that we in our daily lives have enough attractions, distractions, to-do lists, not-to-do lists, etc. which all come together from making sure we are all not always in a state of gratitude.  The universe is very smart, it has given us the tool to achieve so many things, but also made sure the only way we c...

Indicators of energy release

Image by 8photo on Freepik What are the indicators of energy release? We work on understanding, accepting, acknowledging and releasing energies all the time.  But how do we know that the energy is actually moving? One of the most common indicators of the released energy leaving our body is through yawning. Whether we are working with tapping, guided imagery, quantum healing or even other modalities of energy healing such as Reiki - Yawning along with feeling physically tired is a huge indicator of energy release.  Other indicators of energy release can include tears, crying, hiccups, burps, feeling very sleepy- to the point of being unable to keep eyes open and in extreme cases it can even include fever, purging ( specially if the released energy is a lot of disgust), and diarrhea.   Unless the release symptoms are very uncomfortable or are not subsiding, all that needs to be done to facilitate better and easier transition of the energy is to drink plenty of...

Make energy cleanse a regular ritual

Image By tohamina I recently felt the full impact of an energy attack. I thought I was protecting my energy well, but I realized I had not done enough. We all go through such attacks at least a few times in our lives. But what's most important are the choices we make when such an attack occurs.  These attacks want us to make the wrong choices. It gives them more leverage. When I experienced this energy attack, possibly one of the longest running attacks, it took me a while to realize it.  It felt as if everyone and everything was against me. I was experiencing feelings and emotions that did not feel like mine. All I wanted to do was to rave and rant.  But once I realized that all of it felt unnatural, I knew I've to start moving out all these energies that weren't mine. They felt like iron filings clinging on to a magnet. I worked on clearing this energy out everyday, till the source...
