Thoughts Vs Emotions


For those who have been practicing EFT for a while and the newcomers to EFT, it is really simple that once we have done a couple of rounds of EFT, it reveals a lot of things to us. When new emotions come up, it is really good, all we have to do is address them with another round of EFT.

But sometimes our sweet intellect takes over and we start getting a number of thoughts, some memories, some perceived thoughts where we start analyzing the thoughts as possible connections to the issue at hand and start tapping on them. This takes us away from the issue.

I hope you are with me so far and are getting what I am trying to say.

For Example, if the issue at hand is you are feeling bad about something someone said to you, after a couple of rounds of tapping ideas come to your head and you start tapping " Even though I think xyz said this to me because..... " That becomes analysis rather than focusing on emotions.

Even if such a thought does come to your head, focus on the emotion that thought brings up and then do EFT on that.

When we are dealing with any issue for that matter, once you do a couple of rounds of tapping, it will bring up a lot of memories, thoughts, and emotions, but do choose what you feel is the most relevant.


On the other hand, sometimes or even a lot of times, when the memory shows up, we know that is the obvious cause, but we have chosen to bury it and it is really not a comfortable situation to bring it out to address it via EFT. It feels safer to ignore it rather than face the obvious, so we tend to avoid it and choose a less painful thing to work on.

There is nothing wrong with that except the longer we avoid it, the longer the issue persists. If the memory is too painful and a lot of emotions are attached to it, and you would rather avoid it than tap on it, then what you can do is instead of sidetracking it entirely, do a generic approach for a while till it feels better, approach it gently, with patience.

Though being specific with EFT is what gives a lot of good results, with the more painful memories a general approach is better till we have the courage to face it head-on.

We all sometimes do have the tendency of an Ostrich to bury our head in sand rather than face and be rid of our issues. That's perfectly normal. But why not try baby steps for a change in actually, accepting and releasing our emotional attachments to the problem at hand.,

Another thing to remember is, a lot of time the memories are perceived memories, over the years the memories have been modified with what we think happened, rather than what actually happened. Not to worry, as long as you focus on the emotion that it brings up and work on it. It will eventually reveal the actual blocks for you to release.

The power of a boomerang curse

There was some illegal activity happening in the neighborhood and as residents of the area, most of us were rightly concerned and were trying to handle it legally. But in the process, one of the concerned persons (let's call them person X) vehemently cursed those involved in the illegal activity (let's call the person Y), wishing destruction upon their property.  I was nearby and heard the curse and the instinctively knew that was not a good sign. My heart skipped a beat and I suddenly felt unsafe. Unfortunately, I did not act upon my instincts and reverse the cure. Sure enough, the curse rebound back in less than a week affecting not just the property of 'person X', but also everyone else nearby, including me.  The damage that happened was EXACTLY the same as what 'person X' had curs
