The power of a boomerang curse

Image by stockking on Freepik I want to share a story with you, something that I personally experienced and that left me so spellbound. There was some illegal activity happening in the neighborhood and as residents of the area, most of us were rightly concerned and were trying to handle it legally. But in the process, one of the concerned persons (let's call them person X) vehemently cursed those involved in the illegal activity (let's call the person Y), wishing destruction upon their property.  I was nearby and heard the curse and the instinctively knew that was not a good sign. My heart skipped a beat and I suddenly felt unsafe. Unfortunately, I did not act upon my instincts and reverse the cure. Sure enough, the curse rebound back in less than a week affecting not just the property of 'person X', but also everyone else nearby, including me.  The damage that happened was EXACTLY the same as what 'person X' had curs...

The five W's of beliefs that run our lives

Image by wayhomestudio on Freepik Our whole lives are based on beliefs. Some may take us forward and some may hold us back. But some beliefs that we may not even realize we had, have enough power to turn our lives upside down with recurring patterns, repeated problems and even self sabotages that can wreck havoc.  We are left holding thoughts like 'why does this always happen to me'? 'Things never work for me' 'I am so unlucky' 'I'll never find love' "I'll never have money' etc.  These thoughts further power those beliefs and the loop stays on.  Like I've mentioned in an earlier article about beliefs and patterns  even the smallest of words/experience from our childhood can have a huge impact in our adult lives, especially if it has caught us at our most vulnerable time.  To release a belief, we have to identify it and here are five questions you can ask yourself that can h...

Emotional Triggers - What do they tell you?

Image by wayhomestudio  on Freepik Have you ever had one of those days when for some reason you seem to be triggered by the most innocent or simplest of the words. Some triggers can be intense enough to elicit a strong reaction from you, that the other person is left wondering "What did I do wrong? " How often have you stopped and stepped back to ask yourself this "Why was I triggered so much? " "Which of those words triggered me? " "Why am I so affected? "  Once you get these answers you can save yourself and your loved ones a lot of pain.  Because triggers are just that. They point you in the direction of the real emotion that has been still left unprocessed inside. Either emotion that you do not want to look at or emotions that are desperate for an outlet. And they can be incredibly confusing. A situation at work can find a trigger...

Create a gratitude group

Image by jcomp on Freepik After my last post 'Weave gratitude into your life', one of the main questions I was asked was how to ensure being present. As I mentioned in the previous article, we have no shortage of distractions in our everyday life as every single second, minute, and hour slips away from us before we even realize it is gone.  I also gave a method by which we can consciously focus on being grateful throughout the day.  In this article, I want to suggest another method that can possibly be even more fun in our journey towards a more grateful living. Get a group of friends you can connect with and create a gratitude group. You can help each other and guide each other to stay on the path of gratitude. You can even help each other notice more things to be grateful for.  Even if, in a group of 3-4 people, each can have 2 things to be grateful for twice a week, it is a good place to start.  There are ...

Weave gratitude into your life

Image by jcomp on Freepik We all know the power of gratitude. We all know, the more we have to be thankful for, the more we have opportunities to be thankful for. This is possibly one of the most well-known mantras since the time people understood the concept of the law of attraction. But still, the moment we get caught up in our daily life, gratitude more often than not slips way back into our priority lists. Have you noticed that the only time you are holding on to the attitude of gratitude is when you are present in the here and now?  So accepted and acknowledged that we in our daily lives have enough attractions, distractions, to-do lists, not-to-do lists, etc. which all come together from making sure we are all not always in a state of gratitude.  The universe is very smart, it has given us the tool to achieve so many things, but also made sure the only way we c...

The beliefs and patterns cycle

Image by brgfx on Freepik When we are born, we come into this life with a clean slate, to be filled in with our experiences, learnings, and understandings. The wonder years as amazing as they are, are also the years when our brains accept all information without question. So they are also crucial years to form all kinds of beliefs. Some beliefs may be from our own experiences, while others can even be formed while listening to a conversation between adults, or even from media. In fact, these days media also counts among the most powerful influencers in belief formation. These beliefs can also start from the simplest of habits like putting on the right sock before the left. Or if the parents use harmless threats to get their child to do something. Maybe something like "If you leave your towel by the door, you'll have bad luck all day." Now the parent would have told that just to get things done, but for...

The cycle of manifestation and self-sabotage

Image by pressfoto on Freepik One of the biggest topics of interest over forever may be Manifestation. Everyone wants to manifest something or the other, me included. But so very often as we get closer and closer to the goal, something seems to pull us away.  As we start noticing the signs and signals that we are almost there, things invariably start going wrong or falling apart. If it is a relationship manifestation, there may be unexplained conflicts. If it is a job manifestation, the last round of interviews may probably get postponed for no reason. If it is a travel manifestation, something may get canceled at the last minute. If it is a home manifestation, the neighbors may not match your wavelength.  Sounds familiar?  Why does this happen? Why is it that when we are so close to getting something, everything changes? When we are trying to manifest something, maybe a relationship, we get caught up i...
